Cupper(II) Complex with Heterocyclic Azo dye ligand: Spectral, Thermal Investigation, Biological Efficacy and Cancer Inhibitory Activity

Abstract

"Heterocyclic azo dye ligand (E)-2-((4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)diazenyl)benzoic acid(IABA), was utilized for metallization with Cupper(II) metal ion . The structure of prepared compound were identified based on spectral ,physicochemical and thermal techniques. The Cu(II) complexe was separated with 1:2 (M:L) stoichiometry .


 The azo dye ligand acts a tridentate and coordinates to the Cupper ion via nitrogen atom of azogroup ,nitrogen atom of azo group of heterocyclic imidazole ring and oxygen of carboxyl group.The thermal behavior of Cupper complex was demonstrated by thermo gravimetric method (TG, DTG). Cupper Complex was exerted high thermal stability than that of ligand. 


The prepared ligand and its Cu(II) complex demonstrated anticancer movement with IC50 values indicated cytotoxicity against malignant growth cell line with IC50=185.7μg/ml, WRI-68 IC50=200.7μg/ml, while Cu(II)- complex demonstrated specific cytotoxicity in contradiction of disease cell line with IC50 =100.1μg/ml; WRI-68 IC50=330.1μg/ml. Cu(II) complex showed high activity against streptococcus representing Gram-positive bacteria and Salmonella Typhi representing Gram-negaitive bacteria".
