Abstract

The main purposes of this study were to determine the bacteriological load and safety of some Green leafy vegetables (Boerhaviadiffusa Linn) inArcot and Sipcot in Ranipet District. Green leafy vegetable samples were collected from two different irrigation sites and analyzed for their bacteriological contaminants and antimicrobial activity using following standard procedures. The findings reveal that the chemical water and pollution is a possible source of contamination to fresh green leafy vegetables which potentially constitutes a health risk to consumers.
