The present study is an attempt to find out the effectiveness e – learning in teaching of environmental science. In teaching of Environmental Science e-learning approach is found as scarce especially in teacher education. In the present study the investigator has adopted experimental method - the pre-test: post-test equivalent group design. In this design,72 D.Ed., student- teachers were involved in experimental and control group with 36 students in each group by convenient sampling technique. For the treatment, e-learning package developed by the investigators-2019, was used for the experimental group. Lesson manuscripts prepared by the investigator were used in teaching through the conventional approach for the control group students. Achievement test in environmental education constructed by the investigator was used for pre-test and post-test. Findings of the study revealed that there is significant difference between the Control Group and Experimental Group in their mean gain scores and found that experimental Group has gained more than the control group. This shows that e-learning is an effective tool in Teaching of Environmental Science for D.Ed., students. no significant difference exist between the mean scores of the experimental group in their Achievement in Environmental Science at the post-test and retention test level which implies that the students can able to retain the memory for a long time that shows the effectiveness of the e-learning programme.
